My running journey started in 2017, when I started facing minor health glitches. In 2016, I went for my medical check-up and I also want to have a medical certificate, which is mandatory for Schengen Visa processing as I had an official trip planned for Sweden. I gave a blood sample for tests and after the report came, I couldn't believe that I have high cholesterol and thyroid. I went to another hospital for my check-up and got the same report there also. Till then I was always thinking that I will never suffer with this kind of disease as I was a sports person during my school days. But I forgot one thing that after 2010 I stopped all my games and exercises.
From the next day onward, I planned and decided to run slowly and after 2 weeks I was able to run for 1 km without any break. I continued my running and in 1 month able to run 2 km without any break from this I got confidence and continued my running and in 3 months of practice I was able to run for 5 km without any break.
One day in the newspaper I saw one ad about a running event called 'Bhumi India Run' which was going to start from Jawaharlal Nehru stadium of Chennai. I registered for that event on 7th April 2017, just 2 days before that event. I was still thinking that I was able to complete the 5 km run or not. Running event was on 9th April 2017.
On 9th April 2017 I woke up around 3 am and started from home at around 3:30 am with my family as they also want to come with me for a cheer-up. It took 1 hr for us to reach at event place and we reached around 4:30 am.

After reaching I collected my t-shirt and bib from them, then I wore my t-shirt and tied Bib in front of the t-shirt. Around 5 am Jumba started, which was arranged to warm up all runners before running. I enjoyed Jumba and then started the 5 km run, the race started exactly at 5:30 am. As it was my first run, I started running slowly. I was still thinking I would be able to complete it or not. But finally, I was able to complete my first 5 Km run. It took around 45 - 50 minutes for me to complete. After reaching the finishing point, I got a medal and I was very happy with this. I spent some time there and took some photos, after spending some time I started for my home. After reaching home I took a rest.

With this my regular running routine, my thyroid and cholesterol level also came down in 6 months. I was feeling healthier than early and able to concentrate more in my work.
So, until we do not start anything, we are not able to reach the end point. I started and was able do it and now it's your turn.
Guy's come on you can also do it; you are just away from the starting point.
