The 10 Reasons Why You Should Have a Morning Routine – Part 2

The 10 Reasons Why You Should Have a Morning Routine

This post is the second part of the 10 reasons why you should have a morning routine. In case you have not read the first part you could so right now:

The 10 Reasons Why You Should Have a Morning Routine – Part 1

Great so now that you are up to speed, find the second part below!

6) Every morning you get to aim for greatness!

Mornings are like a temporary reset button of our life. Maybe yesterday you did not achieve what you wanted to and you feel displeased with the result of your day, that’s okay. The great thing is that every day you get to do that again, every morning is another chance to achieve your goals and chase your dreams in life.
There is beauty in this and once you understand and accept this concept you will be able to strive for greatness every day. We all have our bad days; we all have streaks unproductive but don’t stress about it. All you got you to do is give it your best the next day. If every day you would be able to do a small thing a little better than the day before, it would make you the master of your own life.

This also means that you should never expect that all chance happens overnight, life is a continuous process that you control. You choose the path of your day by the morning that you plan.

7) The start of your day determines the rest of your day!

The mornings are the start of your day and the way you experience them shapes your perspective of the rest of the day. We all know the feeling of waking up on a pink cloud, nothing that happens that day is able to change your mood. Things that would have bothered you before now simply don’t affect you because you feel happy with your life at that moment. On the other hand, we also all know these days that for some reason everything seems to go wrong, for no clear reason.

The truth is, there are no good or bad days, just your perspective of how you look at things that happen around you. If you happen to look at everything through pink glasses everything seems to be better and vice versa. Most of the times our perspective on the world around us is determined by how we feel, how we feel is based on what happens in our life. So if you have a positive attitude towards your life you are more likely to react better to situations around you during your day.

By starting your day on a high note and by creating a positive start of your day in your mornings, you will inherently become more positive throughout the day. It is all a matter of mindset. You wake thinking that everything will be bad, well guess what, it will be bad. But when you create space for positive influences in your morning, you reflect on yourself, your goals and your dreams, you will literally kick-start your day.

8) Morning Routines are healthy!

How many of us have so little time during our mornings that we skip breakfast despite knowing that it is the most important meal of the day? A study in 2011 found out that in America only 31 million people regularly skip breakfast. Most important reasons for skipping breakfast are too busy and/or running late and didn’t feel that they wanted to eat. Respondents between 18 – 34 were most prone to skip breakfast, whereas 55+-year-old were least likely to skip breakfast.

Skipping breakfast is not a healthy habit. Not

only will you miss out on important energy that helps you accomplish your task during the day, but breakfast will also help you to jump-start your metabolism to burn calories. A healthy breakfast therefore actually helps you to prevent excessive weight gain and sharpens your focus during the day.

9) Your morning routine is in good company!

You are not alone when practicing a morning routine and many famous and successful people have gone before you. Benjamin Franklin was known for a morning routine where he contrived day’s business, had a good breakfast and made resolutions for the rest of his day. Beethoven started his work at 7 a.m. and would not stop before he was finished for the day at around 2:30 a.m. This shows that many years ago, people already understood the importance of a fixed routine to enhance productivity.

Steve Jobs had a motivational strategy to start every morning with. Every morning he would ask himself the following question in front of the mirror as a way of self-reflection.

“If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?” And whenever the answer has been no for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.

– Steve Jobs

10) Your morning routine will become a habit

We humans are creatures of habit by default. Sure, we like a certain degree of variety in our lives but yet we follow many of the same habits over and over again. We prefer to sleep on the same side of the bed, we like our eggs prepared a certain way and we have a certain routine that we follow each day. If we do certain things long enough, they will eventually become a habit.

The moment your morning routine becomes a habit is a good thing, habits are things that we do without really thinking about it. Ultimately this clears up your mind and lets you even focus more on all the things that you want to achieve.

So, what is holding you back now to start with a morning routine?

So now that you have read the 10 reasons to start a morning routine, what is stopping you from starting first thing tomorrow morning. Which of these reasons speaks most to your mind and do you feel that there are other reasons that you could consider valuable for having a morning routine?
